12 days left!

So as you can see from the heading, I have 12 days left in China. That is both good and bad. I will really miss all the people I have met here and the life I have had for the past few months, but I am also looking forward to getting back to school and my friends there! It will be interesting though, walking on American soil after 5 months of being gone. Well, I am excited about coming home, but will miss this place!!

So on Monday afternoon, Dr. Cai and Dr. Ghiselli arrived at the hotel. The other interns and I had to present to them on Monday evening and Tuesday morning. I went on Monday and gave a 20 minute presentation and then answered some questions they asked me. I thought I did well and I hope they thought so too. I turned in my paper during the presentation, and now Dr. Cai will read my paper and then give me suggestions for improving it. When I finish making changes, it will be completely done! I cannot wait to be done with this project!!

Yesterday, Tuesday, I gave my last presentation for this project. I had to present to the concierge department. The thing that pissed me off was the fact that most of the people at the presentation yesterday had already seen me present and they asked me some of the same questions. Crap right? I did not want to present at all. Well, thankfully no more need to look at the presentation, only the paper. Ugh....this project is ruining my life!!!!!!!! Lol...not realy but you know.

Anyways, now I just have to study for my 2 final exams - 1 exam will take 10 minutes: I have to memorize 3 conversations for working in restaurants..however the first line I say in all conversations is the exact same thing..so it will be easy. I have a very good memory so I should do well hopefully - I can still remember phrases we had to learn for the last exam! "Xuyao wo bang nin songru fangjian haoma?" - this means, "shall I send it to your room?" The last exam was on transporting luggage.

The second part to the exam is for the actual Chinese class - we have to do a speech for the teacher..she has already written it but we have to add a few things in and have it memorized..once again I hope I do well and my memory works full force! We also have a written section for this part of the exam - it will be on initials and finals (beginning of the word, ending...confusing..), tones, vocabulary and phrases..I am sure I will do well on this section. The only thing that really worries me about the 2 exams is the oral part! Wish me luck!!

Well this is the rest of my week. After this week is over I am going to relax, pack and do some last minute gift shopping for friends and family!

Love from China,

An Bi Liu (Blair Andrews)
